Born in 1977, Jay has been djing since 1994. Describing his style as "funky dancefloor music", he specializes in US and UK funky house, tribal rhythms and funky breakbeat. Behind the decks he is a true leader in his class taking his musical influences from a variety of production outfits such as Jazz n Groove, Dj Chus & David Penn, Mark Knight & Martin ten Velden, Joey Negro, Grant Nelson, Seamus Haji, ATFC, Copyright.... the list goes on!.
His passion for music shows through in his djing, often incorporating diverse genres and styles infusing his music with energy. Jay's love of house music is obvious everytime he takes to the decks with a big smile and the right track selection he instantly connects with the crowd on the dancefloor,
taking them on a ride through the best of funky chunky housemusic. In the United Kingdom, he has played up and down the country at various clubs including Ministry of sound, Hq's, Fusion, Wedgewood Rooms, Indulgence, The Island, Casa, Revolution, CO2 and Miss Moneypennys to name a few.
He also co- hosted his own night successful night, Shakedown in Leicester square alongside Gary Thomas of Smalltalk/Soulworks Recordings.
Jay was resident for Miss Moneypennys on their world tour in Agia Napa Cyprus for 3years running. During his time in Agia Napa he was also resident at Titanic , Rise Club, Castle club and Club Mythology.
Playing alongside Dj's such as Brandon Block, Alister Whitehead, Howard Donald, Jeremy Healy, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Rob Marmot and Danny Rampling.
He was also daily resident at Nissi Bay beach bar where he hosted his Soulful beach sessions, spinning Latin house and U.S garage, music to sunbathe to! During the 2003 season, Club Mythology hosted various nights including Miss Moneypennys and Back 2 The old skool.
The latter of these nights saw Jay dusting off his old skool and club classics alongside Charlie Macs, taking people on a musical journey through the history of house music. The night was a success story, and sundays became Old skool sundays! Legendary amongst workers and tourists alike! These days you can catch Jay mainly in Warsaw, where he is headlining and rocking many of Poland's best dancefloors, including Piekarnia (Warsaw), Zoo (Warsaw), Utopia (Warsaw), Klatka (Warsaw), Underground (Warsaw), Sanitorium (Sopot), Sfinx (Sopot), Pussydog (Poznan), Cute (Poznan), Esencja (Poznan) and Odeon (Sokolow Podlaski),
La Plage (Wladyslawowo) - playing alongside some of Polands best Dj's including Wawa, Tennessee, Haze, Sunny, Mumin, Matush, Wookie, Moondeck and Easy (plus many more!). After a more than a year in Poland Jay has taken up residency at Opium
then after about a month he has become a resident of ZOO - most popular place at
Warsaw also he continues to appear regulary at Utopia. This year has seen him playing alongside dj's such as Warren Clarke, Claude Monnet, Mark Knight, Seamus Haji, Pete Haywood (Juicy Fruit), Chris Warne & Dj Leo (Housexy), Sebastian Leger, Jay Walker (Manumission) and Dj Roo.
He describes Poland as an exciting place where the passion for house music is extreemly strong. It is very reminiscent of the United Kingdom in the early nineties with up for it clubbers week in week out.
